About George Workman
“I was born in Mayfield, KY. In 1986, I enlisted in the United States Air Force where I served 4 years, as a member of the Security Police. In February of 1990, I was hired by Marshall Police Department. in Missouri, where I spent 5 years as a police officer and detective. While there, I was also a reserve deputy sheriff for Saline County, Mo. During that time I was also assigned to the Missouri Rural Major Case Squad. In January of 1995 I came to Graves County Sheriff’s Office under former Sheriff Bob Morgan. In May of 1997, I left Graves County Sheriff’s Office for Mayfield Police Department, where I served as a police officer and detective. In 2000, I returned to Graves County Sheriff’s Office under former Sheriff John Davis. I was a Detective, Detective Sergeant and Captain with Graves County Sheriff’s Office under Sheriff Davis and former Sheriff Dewayne Redmon. During that time, I was also assigned to the Tri-County Area Drug Task Force and Pennyrile Narcotics Task Force. I have attended college with the Community College of the Air Force and Georgia Military College. I have attended and completed basic police academies of the United States Air Force, State of Missouri and Kentucky Department of Criminal Justice.
I am currently married to my wife of 32 years, Vickie Lynn Utley Workman. I have 3 children, Brandon Bumbales (graduate of Mayfield High 2003), Kimber Workman (graduate of Graves County High 2008) and Nicholas Workman (graduate of Mayfield High 2017). I have 5 grandchildren as well. I consider serving the citizens of Graves County and my family two of the greatest things that I could ever achieve.”
